PROJECT OVERVIEW
During my second year and second semester if University we had to create an experimental game with a partner. Our idea stemmed from Dance Dance Revolution and Fruit Ninja. We took what we saw as fun aspects of other arcade style games and mixed and matched it until we thought of a game where the player has to mine ores (different xp values) by completing random combinations that appear on screen using custom made pressure sensors. We also added a wider range of inputs by using some Arduino inputs like potentiometers and an audio detection device which my teammate programmed in C. For this to go smoothly we first created a Game Design Document that we iterated upon during the 8 week development process. DOCUMENT CAN BE DOWNLOADED HERE. After the core gameplay loop was finished we asked people to playtest our game and give feedback in order for us to improve the game. After iteration all feedback recieved was positive.

Reflection
This project has taught me many valuable lessons. The biggest being the importance of playtesting, without playtesting we wouldn't have known about the underlying problems with our game. This allowed us to fix the issues and in the end create a really fun and enjoyable experiance for the player.
