RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Overview
In third year of University we had an assignment to create a 3v3 Turn Based Fighting game with the teams that were allocated to us. We decided to adhere to our strengths (Technical, Set Dressing and Design) and as we didn't have any modellers on our team; we decided to use assets we found on Humble Bundle and create everything else ourselves. Specifically, my role was focused on the technical side (using UE5 Blueprints) but also ventured into other disciplines. Throughout the course of the 8 weeks, I created and iterated a main menu system (with save functionality), created all of the attacks/abilities from the design document, a lot of bug fixing as one of the main goals for this project was to create a polished vertical slice, added audio to the cinematic and created the trailer. This gave me the opportunity to work with and along side everyone on the team. Finally, our team leader held weekly meetings with us so we could all get our ideas out, know what is happening/what is needed for the next week and start brainstorming iterations based off of feedback.
Reflection
Overall this project went extremely well. I managed to learn many things throughout my time working on this project, mainly to do with Blueprints and better practices. The skills developed will help me in the future to become a better game developer and team member.
