Project Overview
This project was one of the final collaborative projects that I did for my Masters Degree at the University of Staffordshire. I was on a team of 6 students (1 Tech, 1 Concept Artist, 1 3D Artist, and 3 Designers). We were tasked with creating a polished short game or vertical slice which would be industry ready and show off everyone's skills. Throughout the 8 week development phase the game direction had changed a few times and in the end looked significantly different as we had all participated in core design discussions and debated changes that needed to be made. As I was developing systems and mechanics I would constantly ask for and receive feedback from my teammates to make sure all systems were clear, easy to use both for the players and designers and worked well with no bugs. By the end of the 8 weeks our game was selected by the lecturers to take to Games Republic meaning we had an additional 6 weeks to work on the game and make small changes and improvements before we show it to judges and other industry people.

Reflection
Overall I really like how this game had turned out, I believe our team had worked well together to create a game which took an existing game (Papers Please) and put a positive spin on it as well as adding new mechanics. I had a lot of responsibility on this project as I had to ensure I could get all the systems finished and polished in time while working on another two modules along side this. My time at the University of Staffordshire has made me realise how much I enjoy collaborative tasks, which will definitely help me in the future, especially when entering the industry.
